PREPOSITION




preposition is a word governing, and usually coming in front of, a noun or pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element.

A preposition sits in front of (is “pre-positioned” before) its object.

There are 2 types of preposition:     

              a)  Preposition of position or direction:  
  • There is a sidewalk above the hill.
  • Amin stands beside Diane.

              
              b) Preposition of time.
  •  She left before breakfast
  • They lived there since 1998.

READING SKILLS

The monkeys were eating peanuts. One of them sat in a corner. It didn´t have any

ADVERBS

 Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. They describe how, how often, where, when, and to what degree something happens.

FOR EXAMPLE:

                  1) The turtle is crawling through the grass very slowly.
       ("Slowly" describes how the turtle crawls. "Crawl" is a verb.)

                  2)She waters the plant frequently. 
       ("frequently" describes how often she waters the plant.

                3) He's usually late to work.
        ("Usually" is an adverb of frequency that describes an adjective--'             late')
